A young family lives in fear of becoming homeless. A single mom struggles to raise her children. A financial crisis can happen to any one of us with the loss of a job or even just working hours being cut.
These are some of the challenges that hundreds of people right here in Northeast Florida face every day. Some have lost all hope. Some simply need encouragement and guidance. Since 1944, Catholic Charities has been helping people like these recover their lives, their hope, their self-respect and their dreams.
The services we offer are provided to all who need them, no matter who they are. Our mission is clear:
To provide services to anyone in need, regardless of race or religion; to advocate justice, human dignity and quality of life; and to call all people to join in these efforts; thereby reflecting the compassion of God in Christ.
Though we find our inspiration in our faith, we do not seek to promote any religion among those we serve. We are simply here to help. And we do it through five fundamental programs:
Our task is a challenging one, yet we welcome it and accomplish our goals one day at a time, one person at a time, one family at a time. And we are grateful for the help and support of all who believe in the simple creed of serving a cause greater than ourselves. |
